Winners of SU Extra-Curricular Activities

SU EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Students Affairs office organized a well-decorated event to honor and reward everyone who was part of last semester’s SU Extra-Curricular Activities. Here we present how yesterday event unfolded.

SU Rector, Ustad Dahir Hassan, and some other members of SU staff were present to witness the beauty of the event.

The office firstly started distributing ‘appreciation certificates’ to group of students who had involved in a tutorial program. The main purpose of the program was giving revisions and helping students who find some subjects hard to understand or comprehend

Next was rewarding SU 2014 Champions League tournament. Faculty of Economics & Social Sciences (FESS) was crowned as the official champions. Here’s a summary of the tournament’s winners:

  1. Best Coach, Mohamed Khalif Mohamud from Faculty of Business & Accountancy
  2. Best Player, Mursal Adan Hussein from Faculty of Business & Accountancy
  3. Best Goalkeeper, Sadak Mohamed Hassan from Faculty of Economics & Social Sciences
  4. Top Goal Scorer, Qadar Mohamud Arush from Faculty of Business & Accountancy
  5. Best Referee, Qasim Sheikh Mohamud from Somali Football Association

The Students Affair continued with rewarding the winners of the Tug of War competition. The team from the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology was crowned as the official winners of the completion. Faculty of Business & Accountancy came second.

Running Competition followed, and Faculty of Law heavily dominated this tournament. Faculty of Law became the champions of both the 400 meter and 200 meter sprint running. In the 400m, Faculty of Economics & Social Sciences came second; and in the 200m, Faculty of Computer Science & Technology was the runners.

The Egg Holding Competition was a fun and a challenging one. Sharma’arke Abdirahman Mohamud from the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology became the winner of the Egg Holding competition. Duran Yasin Abdi from the Faculty of Business & Accountancy came second.

In the last part of the event, the Students Affairs office recognized FESS Students Association as the Best Faculty Association. And Muse Adan Hassan from the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology was acknowledged as the Best Faculty Association Chair.

The Students Affairs office also appreciated the work of XAJSI – SU Students’ Government.

SIMAD UNIVERSITY recognizes the role of the Somali Football Association, and their consistence help in our various events related to sports.

What an amazing day; and what a wonderful event from the Students Affairs Office.
