Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2017 held.

The 13th Convocation of SIMAD University was held at SIMAD University Main Campus on January 30, 2018. Sheikh Hassan Al-Badawi Director of DirectAid office-Somalia and member of SU board of trustees and Dr. Ismail Hassan, Director of Direct Aid Office-Kenya, Member of SU board of trustees and officially on behalf of the Chairperson of SU Board of Trustees were the guests of honor at the Convocation.690 students have successfully finished from their undergraduate degrees. The graduates have completed programs including Math and physics, Statistics, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Public Administration, Economics, and Law.

Director of DirectAid office-Somalia and member of SU board of trustees, Sheikh Hassan Al-Badawi, first of all, addressed on the convocation. He welcomed the gathering and then congratulated to all the graduating students for this great achievement. He also encouraged the graduates to make use of the knowledge and skills to save the community and also to be good ambassadors of this University.

SU Rector Ustad Dahir Hassan Arab was the next speaker, his speech was heart rocking one, full of congratulations and advice to the graduating students, after he greats all attendees and welcomed them, he prolonged valuable advice to the graduating students “You got graduated from Holy Quran, primary, intermediate and High school, and all those stages you have been awarded and congratulated, as you are completing your first degree, this is different with bigger responsibilities” he said.

Finally, Dr. Ismail Hassan, Director of Direct Aid Office-Kenya, and officially on behalf of the Chairperson of SU Board of Trustees addressed to the graduates and inspired them to engage continually with the University and to be part of the great SIMAD Family and share their spirit and developing ideas to the University. He acknowledged to the parents and guardians for assisting the young people graduating today on their educational and life journey. The director then inspired graduates to have faith in themselves to contribute to the success within its borders and beyond.

this was followed by Deans' call to the graduates, inviting them to come to the stage and then receive their graduation scrolls. Dr. Ismail Hassan, Director of Direct Aid Office-Kenya, and officially on behalf of the Chairperson of SU Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Muhailan conferred graduation scrolls to all graduates. Receiving the scrolls from the director was the touching moment for the students.

This convocation almost becomes unique in the history of SIMAD University since for the first time the highest numbers of students are graduating and our inspiring green and landscaping design campus hosted the second convocation. As a result, our graduates celebrated the occasion by throwing their graduation hats. Lastly, the event formally concluded with inspiring celebrations with family and friends.

SIMAD University always dedicated to offering excellent teaching facilities and research opportunities. It has produced competent and professional graduates who can develop the nation. Our dreams have not only become reality but simply today's graduates are a living proof and it is an indication that the university is moving forward. Furthermore, this graduation underscores our conviction that these graduates will go out and impact their world in more ways than we could have ever imagined, by applying their talents and overall development of the nation.

Congratulations to the class of 2017 for the mission accomplished.
