Environmental sustainability is a global concern, increasing the debate on climate change mitigation and pollution reduction in recent decades. Several initiatives have been proposed, namely a paradigm shift from fossil fuels to clean and renewable energy and improved institutional quality. 

A team of researchers led by Mr. Abdimalik Ali Warsame conducted a study that assessed the effect of renewable energy and institutional quality on environmental degradation in Somalia.
