About 2021 SIMAD Alumni Election?
SIMAD Alumni are coming together on December 24, 2021, in Mogadishu to share and discuss ways of reinforcing the alumni association. During the occasion, there will be an election in which the registered alumni members vote for the candidates running for the Chairperson of the Association.
Who Will Be Eligible to Vote?
All SIMAD University alumni who are within Mogadishu on the date of the election are eligible to participate in the voting process. All they need is to register a day before the election day. Yes! It is mandatory for every alumnus to register to vote in the election.
How Do I Register?
In order to be eligible to vote in the 2021 SIMAD Alumni election, you must register through this link: Bit.ly/SIMADAlumniElection21
How Does the Voting Process Happen?
When alumni voters register through the above link, the electoral committee will check out and confirm the accuracy of the responses collected. All confirmed voters will be the ones who will elect and cast their votes in the election.
Which Positions Are Elected? And Who Are the Candidates?
Alumni will elect and vote for the Chairperson of the association. The Chairperson-elect will nominate his team members including Deputy Chairperson and General Secretary. Here are the official candidates running for the Chairperson of SIMAD Alumni Association this year.
Abdifatah Yusuf Dalmar | BBA’18
Abdifatah Yusuf Dalmar is a Former Teacher at Ablaal Secondary School. He now runs a Textile Business, where he works as a Chief Marketing Officer. He has served in many local organizations where has gained extensive experience in management, teamwork, and leadership. He is running for the Chairperson of SIMAD Alumni Association to build an association based on Connection, Collaboration, and Contribution.
Mohamed Adan Mohamed | BA’16, MA- International Relations & Diplomacy’18
Mohamed Dugoow has over seven years of experience in media and communications, media management and strategy, research, public policy, and leadership in promoting organizational programs and services.
Dugoow worked with both local and international organizations as well as government institutions and has an in-depth understanding and ability to lead and manage both public and private institutions. He has a strong background in mobilizing youth and advocating for youth empowerment issues, as well as leading volunteer activities to assist drought and flood victims in various Somalia regions. Dugoow is now committed to bringing a much-needed change to the SIMAD Alumni family.
Mohamed Ahmed Ali Bariise | BScEcon’ 19
Mohamed Ahmed Ali Bariise is now the Managing Director at ADM General Service Company. He served as a Lecturer at JobKey University and Front Desk Supervisor at Decale Airport Hotel. During his studies at SIMAD, he served as the General Secretary of the Faculty of Economics Students Association in 2017. He’s currently aimed at reviving and reuniting a strong Alumni council and creating a collaborative environment for all the family.
