Cisco Academy

SIMAD-CISCO NETWORK ACADEMY delivers a comprehensive 21st century learning experience to help students develop the foundational ICT skills needed to design, build, and manage networks.

The academy also develops career skills such as problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students registered in the courses complete hands-on learning activities and network simulations to develop practical skills that will help them fill a growing need for networking professionals around the world.

Objectives

Courses

  • IT Essentials 1: an introduction to the fundamentals of computer hardware and software
  • IT Essentials 2: eLearning solutions with an emphasis on practical experience.
  • CCNA Discovery:general networking theory, practical experience, and opportunities for career exploration and soft-skills development
  • CCNA Exploration: an integrated and comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to advanced applications and services
  • CCNP: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) validates the ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks and work collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions.

The CCNP certification is appropriate for those with at least one year of networking experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Those who achieve CCNP have demonstrated the skills required in enterprise roles such as network technician, support engineer, systems engineer or network engineer.

ICT Center

The mandate of the ICT Center is to envision, develop, oversee and maintain IT functions of the university including, but not limited to the IT infrastructure and services, Internet services, information systems and help desk operations. With the support of concerned parties, the center implements an ICT strategic plan, develops the necessary ICT policies and applies them through clearly outlined standard procedures.

To serve as the central hub for ICT services at SIMAD University dedicated to the improvement of ICT facilities, facilitation of access to ICT services and promotion of the use of technology in every aspect of the university's functions through the development of the necessary information systems, network infrastructure and technical skills.

The Center for Training and Consultancy helps the Somali community to meet present and future challenges by offering training and that empower all levels of employees to perform uniquely. SU Training Center provides customized training programs across a wide range of information technology, Business Administration, Public administration, Capacity building and soft skills.

We provide training and consultancy for all types of organizations on the bases of their specific needs and environment in which they operate through the use of expertise, relevant training materials and modern technology.

Center for Peace and Conflict Studies

SIMAD University established the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies with the aim of contributing to peace and stability in Somalia and surrounding regions as well as across Africa and the world. The center is committed to undertake peace building efforts within challenging conflict environments.

To be an important center for the creation, collection, dissemination and use of knowledge and skills related to peace and conflict studies in order to develop sustainable peaceful environments for all of humanity.

Mission

To deliver a clear message of peace, through education, publications, debates, conferences, training and other social activities within the recognition of the right of humanity to live in peace and harmony.
